MyApps is Microsoft’s web portal for work and school apps. You sign in with an organization account, and you see the apps your organization gave you. The official address is myapps.microsoft.com.
The word “myapps” can mean other things. ClassLink has a school portal called My Apps. MyApps.us is a personal and family organizer. Atlassian has a developer console with a similar name. This guide covers only the Microsoft portal.
MyApps Login: How to Access the Microsoft My Apps Portal
You need a work or school account from Microsoft Entra ID. Microsoft Entra ID is the sign-in system your organization uses to manage who can open what. Your administrator must also give you access to the apps, or your organization must allow self-service access.
Sign In With Your Work or School Account
Follow these steps:
- Go to myapps.microsoft.com.
- Enter your work or school email address.
- Enter your password.
- Approve the sign-in if you are asked for multi-factor authentication (MFA). MFA is a second check, like a code or an approval on your phone.
- Select an app tile to open it.
Microsoft Support also lists a second route. Open the My Account portal, choose My Apps from the left menu, and select an app.
If you cannot get in, Microsoft says to contact your organization’s help desk.
What If My Personal Microsoft Account Does Not Work?
My Apps is built for organization accounts. A personal account may show a sign-in error.
Microsoft’s support pages describe two other ways to sign in. One uses your organization’s domain name. The other uses your Tenant ID, which is a code that identifies your organization. Your help desk can tell you which one to use.
What Is Microsoft My Apps?
Microsoft describes My Apps as a place to find and open the apps assigned to you. It can open Microsoft 365 apps. It can also open other apps set up for single sign-on (SSO). SSO lets you sign in once with your organization account instead of typing a new password for each app.
Here is what the portal does:
- It shows your apps as tiles on one page.
- It works with work and school accounts.
- It lets your administrator control which apps you see.
- It lets you sort apps into collections.
My Apps is not the Microsoft Entra admin center. The admin center is where administrators set up apps. My Apps is also not a public app store.
Microsoft says you do not need an Azure subscription or a Microsoft 365 subscription just to use the portal. That does not mean every app inside it is free. Each app can have its own rules.
Your organization decides what appears. Examples from university guides include Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Blackboard, Workday, and Zoom. Your own list may look very different.
Why Are Apps Missing From Microsoft My Apps?
A missing app can happen for several reasons. Microsoft lists assignments, visibility, and licensing among the checks. The cause is usually about access, not about your dashboard.
| Cause | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Not assigned | An administrator did not assign the app to you or to your group. | Ask your help desk to check your assignment. |
| Not visible | The app is not marked as visible to users. | Ask an administrator to check the app’s visibility setting. |
| License needed | Some apps do not work until you get a license. | Ask your organization if the app needs a license. |
| Just added | If an administrator recently added an app, it can take several minutes to appear. Access may also be delayed. | Sign out and back in before checking again. |
| Too many assignments | Microsoft says My Apps reads up to 999 app-role assignments. Users with more than 999 may not see all assigned apps. | Ask your help desk if you have a very large number of assigned apps. |
Your Collection Does Not Grant Application Access
This one confuses people. In March 2026, a user on Microsoft Q&A set up QA, Dev, Prod, and Stage apps in collections. The apps did not show as planned.
A Microsoft moderator explained that collections only sort apps you already have. A collection does not give you permission to open an app. Access comes from the assignment, not from the collection.
How to Fix Microsoft My Apps Login Problems
Start with the problem you see. The fix depends on whether the trouble is on Microsoft’s side, in your browser, or with your account.
My Apps Shows a Blank or White Page
On October 23, 2026, users on Reddit reported a blank screen on My Apps. They described it as a “blank screen” and “hit or miss.” People saw it on several browsers and on mobile devices.
Users in that thread shared a Microsoft incident, MO1522563, about a My Apps access problem. The shared information said service was later restored. We did not check this against Microsoft’s own status page, so treat it as reported by the community.
This shows that a blank page is not always your fault. Try these steps in order:
- Try another browser. One commenter said the portal worked in Chrome but not in Edge on the same computer.
- Try clearing your browser cache. A commenter in a separate thread said this helped some users. It does not fix every case.
- Ask a coworker or classmate if they see the same page.
- Ask your IT team to check Microsoft service health.
If several people see the problem at once, a service issue is more likely. If only you see it, check your browser and account.
My Apps Says Access Denied
An access error often points to your account or your permissions. Check that you are signed in with the right work or school account. Then check that your account has access to that app. Your help desk can confirm this.
My Password or MFA Is Not Working
Microsoft’s sign-in guide lists several account checks. These include whether your account exists, whether it is active, and whether you can reset your password. It also covers your MFA status and your contact details for verification.
An expired password or a locked account can block you. So can a failed MFA check. Your help desk can investigate the issue or send it to a Microsoft Entra administrator. That administrator can check your account status and sign-in settings.
My Apps Opens but the Application Does Not
Seeing a tile does not mean the app will sign you in. The portal and the app can fail for different reasons.
One Reddit user asked about My Apps failing to sign in to an app through SSO. A commenter said that opening the school’s learning system directly worked, but opening it from My Apps did not. Other users in that thread reported trouble with several apps.
If an app fails from My Apps, try opening it directly. Then tell your help desk what you saw.
When Should You Contact Your IT Help Desk?
Contact your help desk when:
- An app is missing and you think you should have it.
- Your password or MFA does not work.
- You see access denied after trying another browser.
- The problem lasts for hours or affects your whole team.
Your organization controls application access. Depending on its settings, an administrator or delegated group owner can approve access requests. Some apps also allow self-service requests.
How to Add an App to Microsoft My Apps
You can request some apps yourself when your administrator enables self-service. Microsoft Entra ID P1 or P2 licensing is also required for these requests.
Add a Self-Service Application
Microsoft lists these steps:
- Open the Apps page.
- Select Add self-service apps.
- Choose an app from the list.
- Select Add.
Some apps need an administrator to approve them before they appear.
Request an Application From Your Administrator
If the app is not on the list, ask your administrator. Microsoft says end users can no longer add password-based SSO apps directly in My Apps. An administrator must set those up in the Microsoft Entra admin center. Older guides may say otherwise.
How to Organize Apps With Microsoft My Apps Collections
A collection is a group of apps on your dashboard. It helps you keep related apps together. By default, the Apps collection lists your assigned apps in alphabetical order.
Create a New App Collection
Create a collection, then add apps you already have access to. Remember that this only sorts apps. It does not give you new ones.
Rearrange or Hide Applications
You can reorder apps in the default Apps collection and collections you create. This feature works on supported devices. You cannot edit administrator-created collections. You can also hide an app, and you can show it again later.
Add a Website to a Collection
Microsoft lets you add a website to a collection. This is handy for sites you open often.
Restore the Default App Layout
You can reset the default Apps collection to its original alphabetical order. This also unhides hidden apps. Microsoft does not provide this reset option for other collections.
My Apps vs. Microsoft 365 App Launcher
These are two different ways to open apps. Microsoft calls the Microsoft 365 app launcher the recommended choice for organizations that use Microsoft 365.
| Portal | When it is relevant |
|---|---|
| Microsoft My Apps | Find applications assigned to your organizational account through Microsoft Entra ID. |
| Microsoft 365 app launcher | Open Microsoft 365 applications provided by your organization. |
In November 2025, a user on Microsoft Q&A could not see enterprise apps in the Office.com Apps panel. The “Other apps” section was missing. A Microsoft moderator said the Microsoft 365 home experience was changing for some users.
What Is the My Apps Secure Sign-in Extension?
The My Apps Secure Sign-in Extension is a browser add-on. It is not the same as the My Apps portal.
Microsoft says it is needed for certain password-based SSO apps and for Microsoft Entra Application Proxy setups. Application Proxy is a Microsoft Entra feature for app access. Most users do not need the extension for every app. Your organization will tell you if you need it.
Some users are unhappy with it. One user on Microsoft Q&A said it no longer showed their apps and only sent them to the My Apps website. Other users said they could no longer choose how many recent apps appear. One reviewer quoted by Extpose described the extension as “just a glorified bookmark for now.”
These complaints are about the extension. They are not about the main portal. Keep the two apart when you look for help.
Does Microsoft My Apps Work on Mobile Devices?
Yes, through a web browser. Microsoft Support lists the latest versions of these browsers:
| Browser | Documented support |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Edge | Desktop and mobile |
| Google Chrome | Desktop and mobile |
| Safari | Mac and iOS |
Microsoft also documents access through Edge on iOS and Android. Microsoft recommends Edge mobile for password-based SSO and Application Proxy apps. Other apps can use any mobile browser. We found no separate Microsoft My Apps mobile download.
